Episode 87- Training and Culpability with Doug Deaton

Doug Deaton is a retired LEO and the proprietor of RDR Texas a Private Investigation firm focused on Expert Witness Opinion and Crisis Management. Doug and I discussed what we believe will be a new challenge to those teaching self defense with a firearm, legal Culpability. In other words you could be held responsible for the material you teach and how it is implemented and may incur liability if that material is not of a sound origin. Pretty wordy way to say “Careful what you say and do when teaching a class”. If you are an armed citizen you should take time to vet your instructors, if you are an instructor you should have a well documented lesson plan. Stay tuned!

Special Episode – School Security W DB

This Episode was not scheduled in advance. After the events of Uvalde TX I was reached out to by several listeners that recommended I get ahold of our old pal DB. DB spent many years running a security team for a very high end private school in Southern California where many of the richest families in Hollywood sent their children. I let DB take the reins and run with this one. Many people are surprised to hear some of the realities of school security and that it goes far beyond installing “Officer Friendly” as the school resource officer. The only way to assure changes are going to be made is to get involved at the local level and tune in to your local school board meetings. Thank you for listening.
